Woodridge is a village in Cook, DuPage and Will County in the northeast of the U.S. State of Illinois and part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The population was 2000 30.934 inhabitants according to the census year. With an official estimate in 2009 34.173 inhabitants were determined. In Woodridge is the Morey Corporation, a campus of Westwood College, Wilton Brands Inc., which settled Pabst Brewing Company and the Seven Bridges golf course and housing development company.
Woodridge was founded on August 24, 1959 with less than 500 inhabitants to a wooded area overlooking the DuPage River East. Woodridge is a young community, the vast majority of homes, businesses and churches were built after the 1950s. Woodridge was founded by the contractor Albert Kaufman, who was also largely responsible for the establishment of the village. In July 2007 Woodridge by Money magazine ranked 61 of the top 100 places was elected to life.
Geography
