Burbank is a city in the U.S. state of Illinois. In Census 2000, the population of Burbank counted 27,902 people. Burbank is part of the Stickney Township.

In the north of the City of Burbank and Bridgeview Village Bedford Park is located; the east Village Home Town and south of Burbank is, the City of Oak Lawn and Chicago Ridge, Palos Hills in the southeast and the west City of Hickory Hills. This is followed by Village Justice joins.

History

The area of Burbank was first settled in the 1850s by farmers, as there, the Lyon Township was established. Burbank was in the southeast corner of the township. In the following decades, settled mainly in German and Dutch farmers. The planned railway connection was the economic crisis of 1893 to the victim.

When the Stickney Township in 1901 formed anew from the Lyon Township, Burbank was the southern terminus of the townships. The population consisted in 2000 of 90.7 % White, 0.3 % African American, 1.8 % Asian and 3.9 % other. 3.2 % said to be descended from at least two of these groups. 11.1% of the population were Hispanics who belonged to the various of the aforementioned groups.

25.1% were under 18 years (5.9% less than five years), the 18 -year-olds were 14.1% over 65 years. The average age was 36.9 years. In Burbank there is a slight surplus of women of around 600 women.
