Carapelle

Carapelle is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6524 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Foggia in Apulia. The community is located about 16 kilometers southeast of Foggia on the eponymous river Carapelle.

History

Carapelle is a recent one. 1774 was built by Ferdinand IV a castle. Finally, the former district of the neighboring village of Orta Nova today in 1958 as a separate parish was.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 16 Adriatica. A few kilometers north crosses the Autostrada A14 from Bologna to the Adriatic coast towards Bari and Taranto.
