Cessna Citation Excel

The Cessna Citation Excel is a twin-engine business jet the American aircraft manufacturer Cessna. It belongs to the family of aircraft of the Citation. The Cessna Citation XLS and XLS are further developments of the Citation Excel.

History

The Cessna Citation Excel ( Cessna 560XL also ) was introduced in October 1994 for the first time. The prototype was built in February 1995 and flew on 29 February 1996 for the first time. The approval was granted in April 1998 and a few months later, the delivery of the first models began. The fuselage of the Citation Excel based on a template, which was also used for the models Citation X, III, VI and VII.

In August 2000, Cessna sold the 100 model. At this time every three days left a new aircraft production halls.

The latest variant of this type, Citation XLS , received on 30 May 2008 its approval by the FAA. The approval in Europe is due in 2009. It has a modern avionics with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 and a FADEC system for engine control. In addition, the interior design has been changed. The first delivery should take place in 2008. To date ( end of 2008) are 225 orders for the Citation XLS .
