Čučice

Čučice ( German Tschutschitz, formerly Czuczitz, also Czutczitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-west of Ivančice and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Čučice is located in the southwest of Bobravská Highlands. Originally docked as Rundling village is situated at the southeastern foot of the hill Dlouhe Příčky (415 m) on the right side above the valley of the brook Čučický creek. Towards the south and west, the Oslava forms a deep valley. In the east, the Na Úzkých collected ( 369 m ) south of the U Oběšeneho ( 369 m) in the southwest of Vodanský Kopec (397 m). The village is situated on the area of ​​the Park Oslava.

Neighboring towns are Ketkovice and Lukovany in the north, Zakřany, Horni colony and Zbysov in the northeast, Dul Anna, Mašinka and Padochov in the east, Zaraženský Dvůr Oslavany and Nová Ves in the southeast, Biskoupky in the south, Senorady the southwest, Ketkovský Mlýn and Senoradský Mlýn in west and Kuroslepy in the northwest.

History

Archaeological discoveries in the field of community can be dated to the Stone Age.

The first written mention of the village and a vineyard took place in 1101 in the founding charter of the Benedictine Monastery of the Assumption in Třebíč. The church said to have been created in 1043 by Duke Břetislav according to tradition. Later the village was part of the lordship Krumlov. The owner was one among others Henry of Lipa and his wife Barbara of Podiebrad (1446-1469), a daughter of George Podiebrad. After Henry of Leipas death his son inherited the rule Berchtold Krumlov. He pledged to 1480, the city Eibenschitz, the spots Rauchowan and the villages Leipertitz, Herzmanitz, Ketkowitz, Czuczitz and Rapotitz and Teuchte the desolate castle Rapstein to Wilhelm II of Pernštejna. Later, the pledge was triggered again. In 1790 Czuczitz consisted of 33 houses and had 170 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Čučice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Třebíč. Between 1949 and 1960 Čučice belonged to Okres Rosice and after its resolution with the beginning of 1961 to Okres Brno- venkov. Between 1986 and 1990 Čučice was incorporated to Oslavany.

Mining

The area around Čučice is an old mining area. In the Middle Ages there were silver mines. Later the village Kalkschächte were operated west. 1845 graphite and iron ore deposits were discovered. A little later formed a mining company, which began with the removal of the Moravian Graphitausbisses. In 1893 the Viennese mining entrepreneur Eduard Elbogen a graphite mining. The last iron ore from the Joseph Schacht was promoted in 1919.
