Dangolsheim

Dangolsheim is a commune with 691 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region.

Geography

Through the village flows the Kehlbach. Neighboring communities of Dangolsheim are Soultz- les- Bains to the north and east, Mutzig in the south, Dinsheim -sur- ruptures in the southwest and Bergbieten in the west and northwest.

Chronicle

758 the village was first mentioned under the name Danckratzheim. During the French Revolution Dangolsheim was a village of Bailliage de Haguenau, the bailiwick of Haguenau.

From 1992 to 31 December 2007 Dangolsheim formed with Bergbieten and the Communauté de communes Flexbourg of the Village you Kehlbach. On 1 January 2008 she joined with the other two municipalities of the Communauté de communes de la Porte du Vignoble.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipal area is mostly agricultural, particularly used for viticulture. By Dangolsheim leads the Alsace Wine Route.

The church of St. Pancras ( Saint- Pancrace ) has essentially three phases of construction on: The tower dates from the Romanesque period, the choir from the 16th century is attributed to the Gothic and the nave in the neoclassical style dates from 1843 Valuable parts of the. facilities are no longer available here: a reredos is located in the Strasbourg Cathedral and the Dangolsheim Madonna, a major work of the Rhenish Gothic is located in the Bode Museum in Berlin.
