Muhlbach-sur-Bruche
Muhlbach- sur- rupture (German Mühlbach at the Breusch ) is a municipality with 650 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in Alsace region of France. She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Haute- ruptures. The village lies in Breuschtal and is passed from the Route Express de la Vallée de la rupture and a railway SNCF.
Coat of arms
The upper part is the Rohan crest. Long, until the Revolution, the place belonged to the bishops of Strasbourg. The last four bishops of Strasbourg presented the originally from Brittany noble family Rohan. It is split right (actually in red) nine ( 3:3:3 ) golden window lozenges ( Rohan ) and left representation Hermelin (Brittany ). The lower part symbolizes the economically important for the town mill.
Attractions
- Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. The former major baroque of 1721 was totally remodeled in 1826. The Neo-Gothic church building contains forward a 40 m high bell tower, a single nave and a polygonal choir. Inside the organ of Stiehr - Mockers 1881 was installed.
- Castle / Chateau du Mullerhof. A Henry Miller from the nearby Schirmeck, bought in 1840 a mill in Muhlbach- sur- rupture and installed there a spinning loom. He built also a Chateau style property that his name was Mullerhof. Today the Dominican operate in this property, the College of Saint Thomas Aquinas, a private school. / Lycée.
- Grave chapel from 1861 near Mullerhof, Muhlbach- sur- Bruche.Diese neo-gothic grave chapel was built under the Second Empire on behalf of the industrialist Jean -Baptiste Muller and his wife Caroline Baumlin as an attachment to her Castle / Chateau du Mullerhof. The Archiktet was allegedly Viollet -le- Duc. Under etched slabs are several industrialists of Coulaux family. Even the mother of the choir Mr. Paul Muller Simonis was buried here. In Alsace, this private grave chapel is virtually unmatched in its monumentality. She stands unter'Denkmalschutz and is now privately owned.
