Oberhaslach

Oberhaslach is a commune with 1777 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the area of the Vosges in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. South-east is the neighboring village Niederhaslach. They are both connected by the D 218 to the network of the department of roads. In Oberhaslach the D75, which traverses the Forêt de domaniale Haslach begins. In the southwest of the village is affected by a stream called hazel, a tributary of the Breusch which opens itself later in Strasbourg in the Ill.

The name " Haslach " "comes from the Bach hazel ( Haselbach ) whose first known mention of " Rivolus Hasla " dated to 817.
