La Broque
La Broque ( German: Vorbruck ) is a municipality in the canton of Schirmeck in the department of Bas -Rhin in Alsace region of France. She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Haute- ruptures. The village with 2864 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) located in the valley of the Breusch in the Northern Vosges.
During the German occupation of Alsace was from August 1940 to November 1944 on the outskirts of La Broque the security camp Schirmeck Vorbruck, which served the German police authorities, among others, as " re-education camp " as part of the " Germanization " of Alsace.
