Datsun 720 King Cab

The Datsun 720 is a pickup truck that was manufactured by Datsun in Japan and the United States from 1980 to 1986. He was also exported to Australia, Europe and the Middle East.

Structures

The Datsun 720 was also held with regular and extended cab ( " King Cab " ), with long and short trailer. In some export markets, a 4- door crew cab was offered. There was also a utility like the early Toyota 4Runner. This structure was named Bushwacker and was available as an after remodeling.

From May 1983 to the setting of the model 1986, the Datsun 720 was built in the new Nissan plant in Smyrna (Tennessee).

In the model years 1980-1983 had the car bunks with single- board walls with protruding upper edges and Anchorage points, two decorative vents on the hood and rear lights on the lower rear panel.

For a time, had the 1983/1984 built in the U.S. models have the bunks with single- board walls and Anchorage points, but already taillights at the rear corners of the trailer with yellow flashing lights that were placed over the red Brems-/Rücklichtern, the reversing lights remained at the old place under the rear tailgate. Drives

The Datsun 720 was available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, but before 1984, the front axle of the four-wheel model was a variant of the suspension at the rear-wheel drive model. From May 1979 to 1980 served as the engine of 2,0 l -R4 - carburetor engine L20B, but soon we moved on to the Nissan Z engine. The models for the Middle East had the 1.8 -liter petrol engine R4 L18. 1981/1982 there was the 2.2 -liter petrol engine R4- Z22 and the 2.2 -liter R4 diesel engine SD22. The 2,0 - or 2,2 l - injection engines Z20E Z22E and were not incorporated into the 720. But one can easily adjust and see the car after installation as originals.

Successor

The Datsun 720 was in May 1986 in Europe by the Nissan D21, of the North American Nissan Hardbody Truck corresponded replaced. In Asia and Africa, this model was offered as a Datsun D21 to 1997. The D21 has the same chassis as the 720 and the 2.4 l engine r4 Z24i heard before the basic equipment, but body and interior have been completely redesigned.
