Farm Aid

Farm Aid is a US-based organization that has made the preservation and support of family-run farms in the United States ( "family farms" ) to the task. To this end, it organizes every year a music concert with well-known stars.

The history of Farm Aid began on 22 September 1985, a charity concert in Champaign (Illinois ) with the objective of financial support for the family farms. The concert was organized by Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. Nelson and Mellencamp reached with their actions, among others the adoption of the Agricultural Credit Act " in 1987 by the U.S. Congress.

One of the organizers of today's Farm Aid belong next to Nelson and Mellencamp Neil Young and Dave Matthews.
