Flag of Bhutan

The flag of Bhutan is held in the Chinese style, reminiscent of the golden-yellow flag of the Chinese Empire.

Importance

  • Saffron Yellow stands for the sovereignty of the King and his leadership of secular and religious affairs

History

The basic design of the flag is in use since the 19th century. The flag in its present form has existed since 1969 and was officially confirmed on June 8, 1972.
