Flag of the Republic of China
The flag of the Republic of China on Taiwan is red with a white sun on a blue background in the upper left quarter. This part is identical to the flag of the Kuomintang Party.
Symbolism
The three colors symbolize the "Triple nation principle " to Sun Yat-sen: Min Chuan (democracy, blue), Min Sheng ( Prosperity, white) and Min Tzu ( nationalism, red).
In the motif of the " Blue Sky with a White Sun" by Lu Hao -tion symbolize the 12 rays of the sun the 12 months and the 12 traditional Chinese hours (时辰Shichen ), which is 2 hours today (小时Xiaoshi, literally " little shi " ) correspond. History
The flag dates from the time of the Chinese revolution. Flag at sporting events
Since Taiwan is not recognized by most countries in the world as an official State, it occurs at sporting events such as the Olympic Games as Chinese Taipei at.
