Flag of Curaçao

Description and significance

The flag has a blue background with a yellow stripe near the bottom. The ratio of the width of the horizontal stripes is 5:1:2. In the upper left corner there are two white, five- pointed stars. The blue (Pantone 280) symbolizes the sea and the sky, separated by the yellow (Pantone 102 ) Sun. The two stars represent Curaçao and the neighboring island of Klein Curaçao, the five points represent the continents of origin of the inhabitants of Curaçao.

The flag is strongly reminiscent of the flag of Nauru, which also has a yellow ribbon with star on a blue background.
