Flag of the Netherlands Antilles
The flag of the Netherlands Antilles was set for the first time on 1 January 1986 in its latest version.
Description
The flag is on a white background a vertical red stripes. It lies in the horizontal direction a blue stripe.
At the crossroads of five white, five- pointed stars are arranged in an oval. They represent the five main islands of Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten.
History
For the first time the flag is set even with six stars on December 15, 1959. The sixth star symbolized Aruba, which, however, in 1986 a separate autonomous region was. With the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles as part of the country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010, the flag is not used anymore.
