Flüela Pass

The Flüelapass ( 2'383 m) is a mountain pass in Switzerland and runs from Davos in Landwassertal to Susch in the Lower Engadine. It lies between the Black Horn ( 3'147 m ) and the Flüela Wisshorn ( 3'085 m). On it, the European watershed runs.

Traffic

The Flüelapass is not safe for winter, the route passes through avalanche risk area. Since the 1999 opening of the nearby Vereinatunnel it is therefore locked during the winter months. In summer, on the Flüelapassstrasse Postbus courses ( Mountain Post Road ) between Davos and the Engadin and a historic stagecoach (see below, tourism).

Use in winter

The Club Pro Flüela continues since the opening of Vereinatunnel for an open attitude of the pass also through the winter months. Since 2004, the winter maintenance of the pass road is carried out in the field of Davos again and used the road from BMW for test drives.

Tourism

The historic stagecoach traveling in the summer season every Tuesday from the Davos Platz railway 6- spännig to Flüela hospice and back. It is possible to ride all the way there and back or to book only one leg. Thanks to the cooperation with Graubünden post bus ticket on the day of travel on the post bus line on the Flüela route is valid.

The Flüelapass is the terminus of the Grisons Haute Route, beginning on the Julier Pass Hiking Trail, which passes through the high mountains in the north of the Engadine.
