Geography

Geographical location

Frankenstein is in the midst of the Palatinate Palatinate Forest Nature Park in the city triangle of Kaiserslautern, Neustadt on the Wine Route and Bad Durkheim. The community also forms the eastern end of the district of Kaiserslautern. Your district rises like a wedge into the neighboring district of Bad Durkheim. Neighboring municipalities are clockwise Bad Durkheim, Weidenthal (both in Bad Durkheim ), Waldleiningen, high Speyer and Fischbach ( near Kaiserslautern ) (all district of Kaiserslautern ).

Sports

The sports complex head has a lawn and a hard place for football and various athletics facilities.

Regular events

  • On Laetare the summer day festival is celebrated with winter burning and Easter market.
  • In July, a drift festival on Biedenbacher Woog is organized in Leinbachtal. It is organized by the municipalities of Frankenstein, Waldleiningen, high Speyer and the Forestry Commission.
  • On the 3rd weekend in July, the church fete takes place. The duration of the Kerwe is from Friday to Tuesday. On Sunday, a church fete procession takes place with the participation of local clubs and groups.

Frankenstein has a kindergarten and a primary school (1st - 4th class). The nursery is run under the auspices of the Evangelical Church. In elementary school, two grade levels are taught together in a room due to low pupil numbers.
