Hirschhorn, Rhineland-Palatinate

Hirschhorn / Pfalz is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Otterbach.

Geography

Hirschhorn is located only 12 km in a north - northwesterly direction from Kaiserslautern at the Lauter. The municipality also includes the living space Wölhof.

History

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1233. The place name Hirschhorn is occupied since 1766.

Parish council

The local council in Hirschhorn consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman location. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, the council members were elected by majority vote.

Mayor

In the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, a woman was elected as a local mayor for the first time. Beate Rudat ( FWG ) was able to assert itself against Andreas Holler ( free list).

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " In silver on a black rock hill, topped with a silver deer bar, a sitting red squirrel, a black double hook holding ".

It was founded in 1955 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior.

Traffic

  • The public transport system is integrated into the transport association Rhein- Neckar. The railway line from Kaiserslautern to Lauterecken has a breakpoint in the community.

Since 2009, a Regiozug travels on the name " staghorn ".

  • Directly by the municipality of the B 270, which runs from Kaiserslautern Wolfenstein and Lauterecken to Idar -Oberstein runs. About the junction Kaiserslautern-West Hirschhorn is connected to the A 6.
