Stelzenberg

Stelzenberg is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kaiserslautern -Süd, which has its headquarters in the city of Kaiserslautern.

Location

The state- recognized tourist destination located in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest. Stelzenberg is located approximately between the City of Kaiserslautern (distance to town early and thus to the Technical University of Kaiserslautern about 10 km) and the town of Tripp city (distance the hamlet about 6 km).

To Stelzenberg includes the residential places and hamlets Old melting, width-, iron melting, forest house Horst and rolling mill.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1534. The Stolzenburg in Stelzenberg, which was built by the " Lords of Stelzenberg " was mentioned for the first time in 1293. The castle was built in 1244 but was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Stelzenberg later belonged to the reign Wilenstein in the county of Falkenstein and came by purchase in 1719 at the Palatine Colonel Jägermeister Baron Ludwig Anton von Hacke ( 1682-1752 ); owned by its resident at Castle Tripp city family it remained until the end of the feudal. Religion

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " divided by red and silver, above a crenellated twin-towered gate system with the shutter closed, the bottom two upright against each other curved, striped red and gold and blue rainbow ".

It was approved in 1950 by the Ministry of the Interior in Koblenz.

The village square with the village well ( Lindenbrunnen ) is located at the entrance a central point in Stelzenberg.

Regular events

Every year on the last Sunday of August is celebrated around the back house with music and Tarte the traditional oven fixed.

Traffic

West of the church the highway runs 270 Kaiserslautern Pirmasens connects. At the federal motorway 62 ( Landstuhl - Zweibrücken) with the exit spell is 15 km away. Stelzenberg is served by a bus route VRN, which operate on weekdays from 5 am to 22 clock at night on a regular basis and at least once per hour buses. The line runs between Tripp city and Kaiserslautern. Closest train station is Schopp at the Biebermühlbahn.
