Freyming -Merle Bach ( German free Mingen -Merle Bach) is a commune with 13,086 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. Freyming -Merlebach belongs to Arrondissement Forbach and is capital of the canton Freyming -Merlebach.

Geography

Freyming -Merlebach lies directly on the border with Germany. On the German side of the border is Großrosseln.

History

Freyming -Merlebach was formed in 1971 by merging the cities and Freyming Merlebach.
