Geography

Community structure

To Frickenhausen include the three districts Frickenhausen, Linsenhofen and Tischardt. They each form residential areas within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code and the two districts Linsenhofen Tischardt and also towns in the sense of Baden-Württemberg municipal code with its own mayor and Ortschaftsrat.

History

From the late 6th to the end of the 9th century there were east of Frickenhausen and Linsenhofen a center of iron production, smelting sites have been found here. The place name Frickenhausen probably derives from the Alemannic personal names Fricko. The first written mention the early 14th century as Frick Husen, it came with the reign Neuffen 1303 Württemberg. The most important source of income was the wine. Through epidemics, war and crop failure was, however, very volatile, so many Frickenhäuser laid from mid-18th century on linen weaving, spinning and flax.

Today's Protestant church was built around 1500 as a late-Gothic village church, before there was a (since 1358 detectable ) Lady Chapel. The probable architect was Hans Buss, the builder of the Holy Cross Church in Nürtingen.

Tischardt

The community Tischardt was incorporated on 15 April 1972 in the town Frickenhausen. Tischardt has emerged as Waldrodesiedlung, it also contained the word on behalf hardware or Hardt points = wood. First mentioned is the place together with Frickenhausen in a stock book of the hospital of St. Catherine in Esslingen in 1310. The coat of arms adopted in 1923 shows a blue shield with a silver table, behind which are three silver trees.

Linsenhofen

Linsenhofen came on 1 January 1975 by incorporation to Frickenhausen. In 1137 Linsenhofen first mentioned in the Chronicle Zwiefalter. The document stated, among other things, the donation of two Huben country in Lisinhofen to the monastery Zwiesel. The town coat of arms can be detected since 1778. On a seal, two men are seen holding between them a standing grape. The lens Höfer saying literally: " Joshua and Caleb carry off a grape! " (Cf. Genesis 4 / Num 13,23 EU). Coat of arms

The Frickenhäuser coat of arms is described in the home directory of the circle Nürtingen 1953 as follows: It shows a silver shield with the hook down introverted, right -turned black Dieterich.
