Hausach

Hausach is a city in the Kinzig valley in the Black Forest in Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg. It belongs to the region of the Southern Upper Rhine, where it is associated with the upper center of Offenburg. Hausach together with the neighboring cities Wolfach and Haslach iK a common means center.

Geographical location

Hausach is in the middle of the Black Forest at an altitude of 232 m to 952 m above sea level. NN west of the mouth of the Gutach in the Kinzig.

History

As in many cities, the rural hinterland Kinzig valley settlement is older than the city itself so was the surrounding scattered settlement Einbach earlier than Hausach. On the boundaries of the former municipality Einbach, which was first mentioned in 1092, is to the left of the Kinzig also formerly independent municipality Sulzbach.

Twinning

Since 1974, West and Southwest Arbois, a small town on the edge of the French Jura mountains, 40 kilometers south of Besançon, in a partnership. Arbois is a wine and tourist town, and was home to Louis Pasteur. Famous and well known is the wine.
