Huldenberg is a municipality in the southeastern part of Dijlelandes in the province of Flemish Brabant in the Kingdom of Belgium. This community in Flanders has 9528 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and is since its merger in 1977 from the central place Huldenberg itself and the hamlets Neerijse, Sint -Agatha -Rode, Loonbeek and Otten castle. Huldenberg itself originated in the 13th century and situated on the River Ijse. The other districts are located on the Dyle and the Laan. The municipality covers two valleys and the landscape is therefore very varied and hilly.

The official language is Dutch. Its proximity to the Walloon Region but French is " on the road " not uncommon, especially in the Walloon region closest town Otten castle.

Huldenberg is one of the greenest and quietest communities in the country. There is no large industry and no large artery runs through the area. This is marked by many forests and fields, and wide valleys, which resulted from the above-mentioned rivers over time.

History

In the 16th century broke in difficult times, including by political infighting and the rise of Protestantism. The villages were looted.
