Listen drogenbos? / I is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant. It is one of the six Flemish- French facilities communities the Brussels Capital Region.

History

The village Drogenbos originated in the 11th century. In 1798 it became an independent municipality. Due to the proximity to Brussels, the location along the canal Charleroi -Brussels put an end of the 19th to the early 20th century a strong industrialization and an accompanying population growth. 1866 had Drogenbos 609 inhabitants. By 1920, the population rose to 2,008. On January 1, 2012 5013 people lived in Drogenbos.

Description: The red oval shield with three (2.1 ) identified five silver leaves is put aside the Order of the Golden Fleece, and is surrounded by crowned with a ducal coronet purple crests coat.

Attractions

  • Built in 1350 in Gothic style church Sint -Niklaas
  • The town hall is located in a former palace. In the 1960s, the castle ruin was faithfully restored with its back- and sandstone facade from the 17th and 18th centuries. Since 1969 building is the seat of the municipal administration.
