Hünigen Castle

The Hünigen Castle is a castle in the municipality in the canton of Bern Konolfingen.

A villa Hünigen as a settlement in the 12th century in a document of Pope Eugene III. mentioned. 1501, the rule of Hans Rudolf was acquired by Scharnachtal. His grandson Niklaus let create the present castle building in the middle of the 16th century, which came in 1588 to the Bernese patrician family of May. In whose possession it remained until 1922, when it was acquired by the Evangelical Society of the Canton of Bern.

The Parkhotel Schloss Hünigen is today a seminar, banquet and holiday upscale hotel and was sold by the end of 2010 at the Lark Hill AG with headquarters in Wilen TG. The Protestant community work as a shop assistant does not consider the hotel industry as their main task.
