Ilia Kulik

Ilya Alexandrovich Kulik (Russian Илья Александрович Кулик, listen / i;? * May 23, 1977 in Moscow ) is a Russian former figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the Olympic champion of 1998 and the European Championships of 1995.

Kulik began at the age of five years with the figure skating. His trainer was Tatiana Tarasova. His career was short, but successful. In his first European Championship, he was the reigning Junior World Champion in Dortmund once European champion and in his second World Championship in 1996 in Edmonton Vice World Champion Todd Eldredge behind. Kulik's greatest triumph but came in his first Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998. There he won the gold medal and finished right after the age of 20 years, his Amarteurkarriere. Following this, he appeared in the world in Stars on Ice and many other shows. In 2000, he played the role of ballet dancer Sergei in the movie Center Stage by Nicholas Hytner.

Kulik is married to Olympic champion in pair skating Yekaterina Gordejewa since 2002 and has with her a daughter named Elizabeth Ilyinichna ( born 2001). He now lives with his daughter, his wife and their daughter, Daria, from his marriage to the late Sergei Grinkow, in Newport Beach, California.
