Ingo Weißenborn

Ingo Weissenborn ( born November 29, 1963 in Bernburg an der Saale ) is a former German fencer who fought to 1990 for the GDR and the ASK forward Potsdam and in 1991 moved to FC Tauberbischofsheim.

In the World Fencing Championships in 1983, he was a member as a replacement of the East German team that lost in the foil final against the team of the Federal Republic in the final. In the World Fencing Championships 1986, he won with the team the GDR bronze.

After the reunification of Germany, the only 1.68 m wide Fechter 1991 foil world champion at the World Fencing Championships and won the team silver. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona Ingo Weissenborn won the team gold together with the two Bonners Alexander Koch and Ulrich fright, and with the deaf bishop Heimern Udo Wagner and Thorsten Weidner.

In the World Fencing Championships 1993 team with Uwe Römer instead Ulrich Schreck won the world title.
