Giorgio Avola

Giorgio Avola ( born May 8, 1989 in Modica ) is an Italian fencer and Olympic champion.

Achievements

Giorgio Avola won in 2009 with the Italian foil team the Junior World Championships in Belfast and at the Junior European Championships in Amsterdam, the team reached him with bronze. In 2010 he was European champion team in Leipzig. In 2011 he was in Sheffield both individual European champion and European champion team and won at the World Championships in Catania bronze in the foil individual behind his teammate Andrea and Valerio Aspromonte Cassarà. In 2012 he was in Legnano team for the third time European champion, at the Olympic Games in London received the foil team in the same occupation, the gold medal.
