Kim Yuna

Kim Yu- na ( born September 5, 1990 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi -do) is a South Korean figure skater who starts in a single run. She is the Olympic champion of 2010 and the 2009 World Champion and 2013. According to the silver medal at the Olympic Games Kim announced her career end.

Life

Kim was born on September 5, 1990 in Bucheon and moved at the age of six years with her family to Gunpo. Currently she lives in Artesia, California.

In May 2008, Kim was baptized Roman Catholic together with her mother, she took it to the Holy Name "Stella". Her father and older sister have no religion.

In 2009, Kim enrolled in Seoul for sports studies at the University of Korea.

The official transcription of her name from Korean would be ' Kim Yeon- a ". After a not so far confirmed rumor, her mother decided to write the name as ' Yun -a '. The officer wrote this but incorrectly as "Yu -Na ".

Career

Kim started at the age of seven years with the figure skating.
