Laval Titan

The Titan de Laval (English Laval Titan ) was a Canadian ice hockey junior team from Laval in the province of Quebec, who played 1971-1998 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

History

The franchise was founded in 1969 in Rosemont, a suburb of Montreal, where it first took part under the name National de Rosemont in the game operation of the QMJHL. After two seasons the team in 1971 moved within the league to the nearby Laval, where it played under different names the next 27 years. The original name was National de Laval in Laval (English Laval Nationals ), but which in 1979 first in Voisins de Laval ( Laval Voisins engl. ) and was amended in 1985 in titanium de Laval.

From 1994, the name was Titan Collège Français de Laval ( Laval Titan Collège Français engl. ), as the QMJHL franchise in the Collège Français de Verdun was dissolved in the wake of a merger with the Titan de Laval.
