Ludovic Giuly

Ludovic Giuly (* July 10, 1976 in Lyon, France ) is a French football player. He usually plays in central midfield or right.

Career

Ludovic Giuly came early into contact with football when his father Dominique lived in the village Zalana in Corsica. Dominique played at the time as a professional goalkeeper of SC Bastia and made his career in amateur clubs fade away until the age of 42 years in various clubs on the outskirts of Lyon.

Association

Giuly began his career at ASC Monts d'Or Chasselay Chasselay away in the city about 20 kilometers from Lyon. He joined in 1993 the training center of Olympique Lyonnais. After a year he was promoted to the first team and won the Coupe Gambardella in 1994.

In 1999 he moved to the Principality of Monaco to AS Monaco. His biggest success in the Monegasque was reaching the Champions League final against FC Porto in 2004, which was lost with 0:3. Giuly was the captain of the team and was replaced after 23 minutes because of an injury. After this season, he moved to Spain with FC Barcelona. In his first season he won the Spanish Cup and the Supercup. In the season 2005/ 06 he won with Barcelona again, the Spanish Cup and the Champions League.

In July 2007, he spent 3.2 million euros in the Serie A for AS Roma. After one season he returned in the summer of 2008 for 2.5 million euros in the Ligue 1 Paris SG back.

In August 2011, Giuly changed again to AS Monaco. In July 2012, he dissolved his contract with Monaco and signed a contract with FC Lorient. At the start of the 2013/14 season he has returned to his boyhood club Monts d'Or Azergues Chasselay, who plays in the highest amateur league, and will next complete a training course for football coaches. In the first round of the national cup 2013/14 Giuly scored Chasselays single hit against the two classes higher antretenden FC Istres and thereby contributed significantly to the fact that the amateurs through to the next round.

National

His debut in the French national team graduated Giuly on 29 March 2000 in a match against Scotland. Contrary to the expectations of many fans and experts refrained coach Raymond Domenech for the World Cup 2006, Giuly and nominated instead Franck Ribery for the position of the right attacking midfielder, and the infringement of Djibril Cissé not helped him to jump in the World Cup squad. Even after the World Cup was planning Domenech no longer with Giuly in the national team, as there is better and younger alternatives for him.

He played 17 matches and scored three goals for the national team.

Others

In his honor, named his first club in Chasselay be Stade de la Moutonne order on 13 July 2006 in Stade Ludovic Giuly. The stadium has 1,500 seats, of which only 360 seats.
