North Dakota House of Representatives

The House of Representatives from North Dakota (North Dakota House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the North Dakota Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the U.S. state of North Dakota.

The chamber of parliament is made up of 94 members, with two deputies represent an electoral district. Deputies are elected for four -year terms. The House of Representatives from North Dakota is one of only five lower houses in the United States, where this is happening. Virtually all other sub- houses, including the U.S. House of Representatives are elected for a two year term. Furthermore, the deputies of office are staggered so that always half of the deputies are elected every two years. The conference hall of the House of Representatives is located together with the State Senate in North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck capital.

Structure of the chamber

Speaker of the House is the Speaker of the House. He is initially elected by the majority faction of the chamber before the confirmation by the whole Parliament follows. The Speaker is also responsible for the course of legislation and monitors the shutdowns in the various committees. Other important office holders are the Majority Leader ( Majority Leader ) and the leader of the opposition (minority leader), who are elected by the respective fractions.
