PÃ¥l Gunnar Mikkelsplass

Pål Gunnar Mikkel Plass ( born April 29, 1961 in Bromma ) is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier. Since 1994, he is married to Marit Wold.

Career

Mikkel Plass won with the Norwegian Relay numerous medals at world championships, including two gold. On the single track he won at the 1989 World silver medal in the 15 km classic style. The same placement on the same route he reached at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988.

Mikkel Plass also won several season and team gold medals in the Norwegian Championships in biathlon, where he competed for Buskerud together with Frode Andresen, Ole Einar and Bjørn Dag Dalen. He is married to the cross-country skier Marit Mikkel Plass -Wold. His brother Eilif Kristen Mikkel Plass, husband of the biathlete Hildegunn Fossen - Mikkel Plass, was more successful cross-country skier.
