Randy White (American football)

Randall " Randy " Lee White ( born January 15, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States), nicknamed " The Manster ", is a former American football player. He played in the National Football League ( NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys.

Playing career

College career

Randy White was born the son of Guy and LaVerne White. He was the eldest of three brothers, visited in Wilmington, Delaware high school and played in the local football team fullback. From 1972 to 1974 he studied at the University of Maryland and was retrained by the coach of the football team of the college to defensive tackle. In 1973, he was able to move with his team in the Peach Bowl. The game was lost with 17:16 against the University of Georgia. The following year won his college team, the Atlantic Coast Conference and moved into the Liberty Bowl. Also, this game could not win White with his team. The University of Tennessee prevailed 7-3.

White was elected twice to the All- American. In 1974, he won election to the best defensive -line player in college football. He also received the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award.

Professional career

Randy White was drafted in 1975 by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round in second place. The Cowboys were coached by Tom Landry, who was considered an expert on defense strategies. The Defense of the cowboys were among the best in the NFL. The Defense of the cowboys was supervised, among others, by the member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Ernie Stautner, who was active as a defensive tackle with the Pittsburgh Steelers before.
