Rathjensdorf
Rathjensdorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. It consists of the districts Rathjensdorf, Theresienhof, Trammplatz and Neutramm. Rathjensdorf located in the heart of the Holstein Switzerland region, and in 1963 awarded the most beautiful village.
Geography and transport
Rathjensdorf is located near the national road 430 about 2 km north of Plön. It is a little village, which is crossed by the approximately 1 km long old village street. In Trent Moor, springs the Kossau.
History
The municipality was formed in 1928 after the dissolution of Gutsbezirkes Rixdorf.
Politics and Administration
Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community KWG has four ( 1 compared to 2008 ), the CDU three (-2 ) and the SPD two seats ( 1) in the municipal council.

Economy and infrastructure
The municipal area is predominantly agricultural. The restaurant Dörpskrog, which had developed over local significance, was closed in January 2013.
1963, circa 5000 m² large forest school was established at the eastern entrance in a former gravel pit, which still presents itself today in a well maintained condition. On the edge of the school forest, is a memorial to the fallen of the wars. Both facilities are due to the diverse activities of the former village teacher Heinz Petersen. South of the school forest, is an observation station, the "Project Group Eagle Protection"
Education
The school system of the last einklassigen primary school was set for the school year 1975/76, the children have since been enrolled in Plön. In the former school building of Rathjensdorf a kindergarten was established in 1996, which is operated jointly with the neighboring community Lebrade.
Church
Rathjensdorf belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Parish Lebrade.
