Remigijus Valiulis

Remigijus Valiulis ( born September 20, 1958 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian sprinter who specialized discipline was the 400 -meter run.

He won for the Soviet Union starting in 1980 two international medals:

  • At the European Indoor Championships 1980 in Sindelfingen, he won the 400m in 46.75 s bronze behind Nikolai Tschernezki ( gold in 46.29 s ) and the Czech Karel Kolar ( silver in 46.55 s ).
  • At the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 he was a member of the Soviet team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay, which in the cast Valiulis, Mikhail Linge, Nikolai and Viktor Markin Tschernezki in 3:01,1 min just before the gold medal the GDR ( silver in 3:01,3 min) and Italy ( bronze in 3:04,3 min) won. The team benefited from the absence of the U.S. boycotted the games in Moscow.

In the individual events, the 400m Valiulis was not at the start. At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as he could, although he was only just 25 years old, do not participate because his country boycotted these games.
