Sant'Agata di Esaro is located about 51 km north of Cosenza in the upper reaches of the river Esaro on a hill. The neighboring communities are Belvedere Marit Timo, Bonifati Buonvicino, Cetraro, Malvito, Mottafollone and Sangineto.
