Solituderennen
The Solitude racetrack is a former motor racing track in the west of Stuttgart. It is named after the castle Solitude and was the venue for various motorcycle and automobile racing.

Routes
The traditional, used for motorcycle racing track is located above the Stuttgart district Bergheim, but not in the center of the main 11.3 km long variant of the former racetrack. This leads from the start and target - house at today's ADAC training area, the lake house, and then on Glemseck in Leonberg past up to the women's cross, then towards cats Hof with the Steinbachsee, past the Stuttgart district Büsnau to shadow reason and by the Mahdental back to Start and finish in front of Glemseck. The section from the shadow of reason to Glemseck runs in the valley of Glems.
- From 1903: Erste Hill Climb race track from Stuttgart West train station up to the Schloss Solitude.
- From 1906: Departure from the Western Railway Station relocated to Heslach.
- From 1925: circular course with a length of 22.3 km, starting and finishing at the castle. Direction: counter -clockwise.
- From 1931: round course was shortened with the road through the Mahdental. Start and finish was moved to the west. Direction: clockwise.
- From 1935: final round course: The 1931 introduced by the line Mahdental and 1931 omitted part of the track form the 11.4 -mile course used until 1965. Direction: counter -clockwise.
- 2003: 100th anniversary celebration at 4 km short route around the castle, but still on historic route members ( 1925-1935 ). Start and finish back at the castle. Drive direction. Only the shortcut through the Wildlife Park Expressway and the access ramp is new.
- 2011: On the interaction of the initiatives Solitude Revival and Retro Classic Culture back were part of the Automobile Summer 2011 in Baden- Württemberg for the 125th " birthday " of the Benz Patent Motor Car, the streets belong to the last traffic variation, for a weekend locked. Many visitors could watch the biking the route, historic racing and sports cars from different eras.

Car race
Automobile races were less often discharged because the track was expanded until the mid- 1950s sufficiently wide. From 1961 to 1964 not counting for the World Cup Formula 1 races were held on the Solitude racetrack as part of motorcycle racing. Participants or winners were here Hans Herrmann, Innes Ireland, Jim Clark, Dan Gurney, John Surtees, Jack Brabham.
