Taihei Kato

Taihei Katō ( jap加藤 大平, Katō Taihei, born July 30, 1984 in Wassamu ) is a Japanese nordic combined.

Katō began his international career in January 2003 as the B- Nordic Combined World Cup. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 and 2004 Sollefteå in Stryn he was unable to reach the top places in the individual competitions. Between 2004 and 2007 he was able to increase its performance in B- Cup -resistant and were thus on 9 March 2007 his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined. After he landed in the first two contests in the points, he finished the season in 49th place in the Sprint World Cup overall standings. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, he won together with Yusuke Minato, Akito Watabe and Norihito Kobayashi gold medal in the team competition. In the World Cup he could regularly achieve rankings in the top thirty and then finished the season 2008/ 09 on the 29th place in the overall World Cup standings. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he reached in the individual on the normal hill and 24th in the individual large hill from the 30th place. In team competition, he came up with the team to 6th place.
