Verkhnyaya Pyshma

Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Russian Верхняя Пышма ) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) with 59 749 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located on the eastern edge of the Middle Urals about 15 km north of Yekaterinburg Oblasthauptstadt the headwaters of the Pyshma, a right tributary of the Tura.

The city is the administrative oblast subordinate directly. The city is under Verkhnyaya Pyshma represents the western neighboring town Sredneuralsk.

History

Verkhnyaya Pyshma was founded in 1660 in place of the village Pyschminskoje. 1854 here was the Kupfererzlagerstätte Pyschminsko - Kljutschewoje. In connection with the Abteufung a first shaft 1856, the mining camp was Medny Rudnik (Russian for copper mine ), which (Russian for Upper Pyshma ) received in 1946 under the present name of a town.

Culture and sights
