Vigo di Fassa
Vigo di Fassa ( Ladin: Vich ( de Fascia ), German outdated Vig in Fasstal ) is a municipality in Val di Fassa in the Italian province of Trento ( Trentino Alto Adige ) with 1232 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). Its area is 26.7 km ².
Demography
Vigo di Fassa has about 411 households. The figures of the decennial census, according to ISTAT, the population increased between 1991 and 2001 by 14.6%.
Geography
Vigo di Fassa is situated on the state road SS 241 from Bolzano to Canazei, which crosses the west of Vigo Karerpass, and is surrounded by the following municipalities: Pozza di Fassa, Nova Levante (BZ ), Moena, Soraga.
Tourism and Sport
Vigo di Fassa in the Italian region of Trentino in the Dolomites mountain range and is regarded as the preferred starting point for mountain, skiing and climbing in the Rose Garden Group.
The cable car of Ciampedie whose station situated in the center, leads to the same natural terrace at 1998 m height from which a panoramic view from the rose garden to the Pale di San Martino is possible.
In winter the Ciampedie center of the ski resort of the same name. A runway was named after the former Italian skier Alberto Tomba.
In the summer, prepare yourself in the local sports center gelegentlilch various Italian football clubs on the season before, for example, the Torino, Sampdoria, Lecce and Lazio.
Culture
In Vigo is the seat of the Ladin Cultural Institute, here works and buildings of the Ladin culture be protected, cataloged and made available in cooperation with the Ladin Museum to the public in part.
