Willie Walsh (bishop)

Willie Walsh ( born January 16, 1935 in Roscrea, County Tipperary ) is a Roman Catholic bishop in Ireland.

Life

After leaving school at the Corville National School in Roscrea and St. Flannan 's College in Ennis Walsh studied at St. Patrick 's College, Maynooth Roman Catholic theology. Then he studied at the Pontifical Irish College in Rome. 1959 Walsh was ordained as a priest in Rome. After his priestly ordination, he studied canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. After his return from Rome Walsh taught for a year at Coláiste Einde in Galway and then from 1963 at St. Flannan 's College in Ennis. Walsh was ordained on October 2, 1994 by Dermot Clifford Bishop of Killaloe. 17 May 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation as bishop of age. His successor, Bishop Kieran O'Reilly.
