1940 Copa del Generalísimo

The Generalísimo Cup 1940 was the 37th edition of the Spanish Football Cup competition, which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey.

The competition started on May 12 and ended with the final on 30 June 1940 at Campo de Vallecas in Madrid. Defender of the Cup competition was the Sevilla FC. The title was won CD Español by a 3-2 success after extra time in the final against Madrid FC.
