1980 IAAF World Cross Country Championships

The 8th IAAF World Cross Country Championships IAAF found on March 9, 1980 to the Longchamp Racecourse in Paris ( France) instead.

The men started over a distance of 12.58 km, 4.82 km and the women over the juniors about 7.41 km.

By winning the silver medal Hans -Jürgen Orthmann reached the best-ever placing of a German athlete.
