2012 Faroe Islands Premier League

The Faroe Islands Football Championship 2012 was the 70th season of the highest Faroese Football League. Following the withdrawal of the main sponsor Vodafone the league no longer operated under the name Vodafonedeildin. As a new sponsor, the energy company Effo was announced on February 27, 2012, so the league for this season is named Effodeildin. It started on March 24, 2012 with the play of B36 Tórshavn against FC Suðuroy and ended on 6 October 2012.

The team FC Suðuroy and TB Tvøroyri returned for a or six years back in the top flight. Master was EB / Streymur who could thus win the title for the second time. Defending B36 Tórshavn landed in sixth place. Descent on the other hand had to B68 Toftir and FC Suðuroy after five and one years excellence.

National Cup

In the National Cup Víkingur Gøta won with 5-4 on penalties against champions EB / Streymur.

European Cup

2012/13 B36 Tórshavn played as a champion of last year in the first qualifying round of the Champions League against Linfield FC ( Northern Ireland). After both the outward and the return match went out 0-0 on penalties 3:4 was lost.

Víkingur Gøta played in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against FK Gomel ( Belarus ) and retired with 0:6 and 0:4 from.
