Beatles for Sale is published on December 4, 1964 fourth album by the British group The Beatles. It was produced by George Martin for the Parlophone label.

This album was recorded at the time when Beatlemania was particularly strong. The Beatles were on a larger tour and forwarded from interview to interview and television show to television show. Due to the time-consuming stress the Beatles attacked in this album back to old material, which they had to Cavern club times in the repertoire. So they could take this new LP in a relatively short time.

The album, which contains many cover versions, marked the end of the first phase of artistic development of the Beatles. What is striking is the large number of original compositions that are textually kept in some dark mood ( No Reply, I Do not Want to Spoil the Party or especially I'm a Loser ); held in the old tradition, however, are pieces like Eight Days a Week, optimistic I'll Follow the Sun or the smart - ironic Baby's in Black, which was one of the absolute duration burners on Beatles concerts and even played at the end of their live career been.
