BMW Concept 7 Series ActiveHybrid

The BMW Concept 7 Series ActiveHybrid is the concept vehicle of the first mild hybrid from BMW. The concept car premiered at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008 premiere. The model is available since late 2009 as BMW ActiveHybrid 7 in series.

In the BMW 7-series concept car comes alongside an internal combustion engine ( N63 ), based on the V8 Twin Turbo with High Precision Injection in the BMW 750i ( there with 300 kW/408 hp), an additional electric motor for pure support the combustion engine is used. The electric motor is integrated between the engine and transmission and has a motor power of up to 15 kW and 210 Nm of torque to 2800 rpm. Under the mild hybrid concept of the electric drive increases the dynamic potential of the eight-cylinder gasoline engine and reduced, mainly in city traffic, through recuperation ( brake energy recovery) the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
