The current 1 Series BMW (internal: F20 - five-door, F21 - three-door ) serves the compact class segment. It was introduced in mid-2011 as the successor to the E87 series and is produced at the BMW plant in Regensburg, March 1, 2012, the BMW plant in Leipzig.
