History
Burgoberbach was as episcopal eichstättisches fiefs owned by the Counts of Oettingen and came 1803-1806 in the possession of Bavaria. The 1818 resulting community Burgoberbach existed since the Reform in Bavaria in 1972 from the formerly independent communities Burgoberbach, Neuses, Niederoberbach and summer village.
Religion
The independent Protestant churches, summer village and Thann together form a parish and also include the location Burgoberbach.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, the formerly independent communities Neuses, Niederoberbach and summer village were incorporated.

Mayor
For first mayor of the Savings Bank Administration Alfons shock was elected with 67.8 percent of the vote in the runoff election on May 29, 2011. The election was necessary because the previous mayor Andreas Kollay resigned for health reasons.
1 April 2013 announced Alfons shock his resignation as mayor. The resignation was due to health problems. Since June 16, 2013 Gerhard Rammler (CSU ) mayor.
