Geography
Geographical Location
Oberdachstetten is located on the northern edge of the district of Ansbach in the administrative region of Middle Franconia. Neighboring municipalities are (from north clockwise beginning ): Illes Home, Obernzenn, Flachslanden, teaching mountain, Colmberg and market Bergel.
At an altitude 416-534 m above sea level Oberdachstetten is situated in the natural park of Franconia ( 416-534 m above sea level) on the upper reaches of the Franconian Rezat.

History
Since the early Middle Ages there was a place where the population of interest on certain days to a so-called day thing ( trial ) came together. In the year 1105 was derived from the word days thing constant days and finally Oberdachstetten. Oberdachstetten was in the Middle Ages a free kingdom village with its own jurisdiction, point out in the arms of the imperial eagle and the monkey hand. 1860 brought the construction of the railway structural change and new jobs. The catchment area of Oberdachstetten grew well into the surrounding area. For the first time it was possible to visit and away a job. A quarry at Oberdachstetten flourished until 1930. Already in 1900 Oberdachstetten had 725 inhabitants. From 1945 it was incorporated more than 300 refugees and displaced persons. The number of inhabitants had increased in 1950 to 1172. Sandwiched between the railway line and national highway had Oberdachstetten over the years little development opportunities. Following significant investment in infrastructure a long-range development of construction sites was possible in the past 15 years. In recent years, 150 new houses were built and the population increased by almost half.
Incorporations
On 1 January 1972 Mitteldachstetten was incorporated into Oberdachstetten. On July 1, followed in 1972 Anfelden.

Coat of arms
The Coat of Arms description is: The coat of arms is divided; and is left in a gold rotbewehrten half black eagle; right, it is divided into two fields, of which the upper in red a silver glove and the bottom in silver has a black Tatzenkreuz. Oberdachstetten belonged with Central and dialed the sub-roof Stetten to the so-called Empire villages. This proven loyalty to the German Reich is displayed at half the imperial eagle. The glove is a symbol of the local jurisdiction, as it has in 1417 and 1539 given a court proven both in Oberdachstetten, as well as in Mitteldachstetten. Only a few hundred meters from the village there is a swimming pond with youth campground, beach volleyball court, lawn and playing field. In a log cabin a lounge there are also housed a kitchen, showers and toilets.
Freeman
In 1899, the local forester Haber Meyer, who had contributed actively to the establishment of the volunteer fire department and the loan cash Club, an honorary citizenship. Other honorary citizen are not known.
Culture and sights
Other attractions in the village of Oberdachstetten include St. Bartholomew's Church and the Churches in Mitteldachstetten and Berglein.
The St. Bartholomew's Church was built in the period 1837-1844 in the style of the Munich- classicism. The bells consists of four bells, the oldest in 1616 in Nuremberg, the great bell of 1791 in Ansbach and the little bell was cast in 1926 in Rothenburg. In 1961, the fourth bell was donated.
The churches in Berglein and Mitteldachstetten is fortified churches.
The Church in Berglein dedicated the church Holy Kilian and Cunegonde. The choir tower ( with subsequent vestry ) contains medieval wall remains.
The Church in Mitteldachstetten is dedicated to St. James Church. It was first mentioned in 1122. The choir tower was built in the late 14th century and has loopholes. The hall building dates from the mid-18th century.
The fair in Oberdachstetten place every year on the 3rd Sunday in October with the traditional religious holidays, move the highlight instead, which dates back to the period around 1900. The procession is led by the parish fair Buam, supported by musicians sing their Kerwa - Liedli. The end of the procession is the Paris Eilrad. Here, daring Kerwa Buam put on a wagon wheel that is pulled by a tractor through town. In the middle of the train, the fun, but also serious issues are shown from in and around Oberdachstetten acting of the parish fair Buam on lavish cars. But meantime, the Stetter Kerwa relocation is known far beyond the city limits and also popular.
Another attraction is the devil ditch and the so-called spinner. Such locations are on the trail of Oberdachstetten to West home. According to legend, the Virgin Apollonia Hufnagel to be gone from Anfelden to West home for spin exchange. There they spoke among other things of the infamous Devil's ditch in the woods between Anfelden and West home, where it was not scary. The girl had stated that it was not afraid even of the devil and at midnight would spin on Teufelsgraben. The Apollonia also have really done. The next day she was found dead with inverted neck. A grave monument in the form of a Roman cross recalls the spinner.

Leisure
Due to its location in the natural park of Franconia the municipality invites Oberdachstetten to numerous hiking and cycling.
For example, leads the Biberttalradweg by Oberdachstetten, which can be connected across the romantic francs to the Castle Road bike path and the Zenntalradweg. The coming of Bamberg Aischtalradweg also runs through the municipality. Detailed route information are the cycling map of Nora ( Municipal Alliance) can be seen.
The municipally owned swimming pond has a sunbathing area and a volleyball court. Sanitary facilities are available. The Badeweiher the affiliated youth campsite with operating buildings is assumed in the summer months of the youth organizations.
Two soccer fields, three tennis courts and a shooting house are also for sporting activities.
